gap personnel are recruiting a PM Shift Manager on behalf of an established food manufacturer. This opportunity would suit a hands‑on production leader who can motivate people, deliver production targets, and maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and quality.

Taking responsibility for the afternoon shift, you will provide clear direction to the production team, organise resources and resolve day‑to‑day challenges. You will be a visible presence on the factory floor, supporting your team and ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to specification.

The role

  • Lead, motivate and develop production operatives and team leaders throughout the 14:00–22:00 shift.
  • Plan staffing and allocate work to achieve production schedules and output targets.
  • Maintain compliance with site procedures, BRCGS requirements, food safety controls and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure production checks, traceability records and shift documentation are completed accurately.
  • Monitor productivity, waste, downtime and quality, taking action where performance falls below expectations.
  • Work closely with technical, hygiene and engineering teams to resolve issues and keep production running effectively.
  • Manage attendance, performance and training needs, building a capable and accountable team.
  • Maintain safe working practices and deliver clear handovers between shifts.

About you

You will also bring:

  • A confident, approachable leadership style and the ability to set clear expectations.
  • Experience managing production targets while maintaining quality and safety.
  • The ability to make decisions, resolve problems and stay organised under pressure.
  • A hands‑on approach, with a willingness to support and coach people on the production floor.
