Due to continued growth at one of our clients based in Swindon, Gap Personnel are looking for a Woodworking Fabricatorto join their skilled production team.
The Role
As a Woodworking fabricator, you will manufacture bespoke timber packaging products to precise customer specifications. Working from technical drawings, you will cut, assemble, and finish a variety of wooden packaging solutions while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Assembly
- Manufacture bespoke wooden crates, boxes, pallets, and packaging products.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Cut, shape, assemble, and fit timber components to specification.
- Use woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Install protective packaging materials where required.
Quality & Production
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Identify and rectify any defects before products are dispatched.
- Work efficiently to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Assist with packing and preparing completed products for shipment.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Wear and maintain appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
- Handle materials and equipment safely and responsibly.
Teamwork
- Work closely with colleagues across the production team.
- Support a positive and professional working environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiency.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience in woodworking, manufacturing, joinery, carpentry, or a similar production environment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Experience using woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
Desirable
- Experience manufacturing timber packaging, crates, or pallets.
- Forklift licence or previous forklift experience.
