Are you an experienced Slinger with valid qualifications? Ready for your next opportunity? gap personnel Exeter is recruiting multiple Slingers to join a leading Engineering Services provider supporting the Defence, Security, Nuclear, and Emergency Services sectors at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth.
You’ll be part of a highly respected team working on critical UK infrastructure projects. You’ll need to work with integrity, follow company policies, and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out slinging operations on Fleet Time & Upkeep projects in Warships & Submarine Business Units
- Setting up safe exclusion zones for lifting operations
- Producing basic lift and fleeting plans
- Inspecting lifting equipment and quarantining any non-conforming items
- Supporting additional engineering projects as needed
What we’re looking for:
- At least 2 years of prior Slinging experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Available immediately
- Must hold one of the following certifications:
- NVQ2 Moving of Loads
- NPORS402 Slinger Signaller
- CPCS A40 / Blue OPITO
Pay & Hours:
£19.45ph, paid weekly
Monday to Thursday (0730am – 1530pm) & Friday 0730am – 1230pm
35 hours per week
Successful candidates will be pro-active team workers, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff. Operate within the confines of company policy and procedure requirements, including integrity and confidentiality in respect of the business. Abide by health and safety legislation in respect of yourself and others.
