We are looking for an experienced Shift Manager in Blackburn.
Job Summary:
The Shift Manager will oversee the production process, ensuring that manufacturing activities are carried out efficiently and safely during their assigned shift. The role requires a proactive individual who can manage staff, optimise production workflows, and maintain high-quality standards.
This role is pivotal in maintaining the smooth operation of our client\’s manufacturing processes and ensuring that their products meet the high standards their customers expect. The Shift Manager must be a dynamic leader who can inspire their team and drive performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff to meet production targets.
- Implement and enforce strict safety and quality control standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide immediate solutions.
- Ensure machinery is in good working order and coordinate with maintenance when necessary.
- Monitor and report on production performance against key metrics.
- Train new employees on equipment operation and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with other Shift Managers and the Production Manager to optimise production processes.

- Achieve a consistent level of high-quality output while minimising waste.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with company and legal safety standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, suggesting and implementing process improvements.
- Lead by example, promoting teamwork and a positive work atmosphere.

- Meet or exceed production goals while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Ensure efficient shift changeovers and minimise downtime.
- Develop and maintain a skilled and motivated team.
- Continuously assess and improve workflow efficiency and staff productivity.
- BRC and ISO9001 standards maintained with internal audits
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of production machinery and maintenance requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Starting Salary: competitive salary and salary progression after successful probation period of 6 months
