gap personnel are recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing and highly successful UK retail business for a Finance Manager to join their expanding e-commerce finance team based in Plymouth. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s fastest growing privately owned companies, with a strong nationwide presence and ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting online retail operations through commercial finance insight, performance analysis, and strategic decision‑making.
The Role
- Reporting to the Senior Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering financial support and analysis across the e-commerce division, helping to drive profitability and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead finance responsibility for e-commerce P&Ls, monitoring sales, margins, marketing spend, returns, and associated costs
- Partner with Marketing, Tech, and Digital teams to review trading performance, promotions, campaign ROI, customer acquisition costs, and conversion opportunities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis
- Conduct weekly and month-end performance reviews, identifying risks and opportunities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements
- Support wider business reporting requirements
- Assist with and manage finance‑related projects and governance initiatives
Candidate Requirements
- Part‑qualified or qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA, or qualified by experience
- Strong management accounting and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience using BI tools would be advantageous
- Good understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management
- Previous experience within e-commerce, retail, or digital sectors is desirable
- Commercially minded with excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial data clearly to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders
