The Role
This is a senior leadership position combining engineering expertise with operational management. You will oversee day-to-day manufacturing performance while driving technical improvements, process optimisation, and scalable operational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily production and engineering operations
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity
- Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Monitor KPIs, operational performance, and production output
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and technical teams to optimise plant performance
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives across the site
- Manage operational budgets, resource planning, and cost control
- Identify and implement automation, system, and process improvements
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and operational teams
About You
- Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Materials, or similar)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering leadership role
- Strong understanding of industrial production processes
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a practical, hands-on approach
Desirable Experience
- Experience within heavy manufacturing and industrial processing environments
- Professional certifications such as Six Sigma or PMP
- Exposure to automation, plant optimisation, or quality systems
- Experience supporting sustainability initiatives within manufacturing
