NHS Domestic Cleaner – Temporary Contract
Location: Lytham St Annes
Pay Rate: £12.21 – £20.34 per hour (depending on shift/unsocial hours)

About the Role
We are recruiting dedicated and reliable NHS Domestic Cleaners to support a healthcare environment in Lytham St Annes. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and patient safety. You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team, helping ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out routine and deep cleaning tasks across clinical and non‑clinical areas
- Maintaining strict infection prevention & control standards
- Cleaning wards, patient areas, bathrooms, corridors, offices and public spaces
- Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly
- Replenishing supplies such as hand soap, sanitiser, paper towels, etc.
- Following NHS cleaning schedules, colour‑coding systems, and safety protocols
- Using cleaning equipment safely (e.g., floor buffers, mops, vacuums)
- Reporting any maintenance issues or hazards
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and hygienic environment at all times
Shift & Working Hours
- Rota-based work Monday to Sunday 5 days per week
- Flexibility required due to shift rotation
- Enhanced rates apply for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays (included within pay range)
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience (NHS or similar environment desirable)
- Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and time‑management skills
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Ability to pass DBS checks if required
