We are currently seeking an experienced Vinyl Floor Layer to join a team, working within a busy NHS hospital environment. This role involves installing and maintaining high-quality vinyl flooring across clinical and non-clinical areas, ensuring all work meets strict healthcare standards and hygiene requirements. This will be for 2 months initially.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation of various vinyl flooring types including:
- Safety flooring
- Cap & cove systems
- Sheet vinyl and tiles
- Floor preparation including leveling, smoothing, and subfloor repairs
- Carrying out work in sensitive areas such as wards, theatres, and corridors
- Ensuring all workmanship complies with NHS infection control and health & safety standards
- Working efficiently to minimise disruption to hospital operations
- Maintaining clean and safe work areas at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience as a vinyl floor layer (essential)
- Experience in healthcare or similar environments (highly desirable)
- Skilled in cap & cove and weld systems
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans and specifications
- Valid CSCS card (preferred/required depending on site)
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
