Gap Personnel who operate as an employment business are currently recruiting for 1 Quality Technician for an innovative packing company based in Nantwich, Cheshire.
Role: Quality Technician
Job term: Permanent Position
Location: Nantwich, Cheshire
Working hours: 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm
Annually Salary: £30k-£34k (based on experience)
Job description:
- Implementation of food safety and GMP standards and procedures.
- Ensuring that the standards laid down in the QMS are being adhered to.
- Start-up and routine quality surveillance within a food production/packing environment.
- Routine product sampling and on-site analysis (e.g. pH, viscosity, organoleptic).
- Collecting microbiological samples, water samples, environmental swabs and hand swabs as required.
- Sample submission to the testing laboratory.
- Undertaking internal audits focusing on GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Fabrication, Hygiene and Personal Hygiene, and ensuring suitable corrective actions are taken and satisfactorily closed out.
- Raising non-conformities, Quality incidents and taking suitable and appropriate corrective actions.
- Investigating consumer/customer complaints and involvement in root cause analysis and preventative actions.
- Part of the HACCP Team.
- Able to create and deliver training and development material to personnel across the company regarding the QMS.
- To provide assistance in the resolution of customer complaints as required.
- Covering colleagues for holidays and/or busy periods.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a quality role in a food manufacturing environment.
- Can-do attitude, enthusiastic and ability to encourage others and work as a team player.
- Be self-motivated and proactive.
- Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint).
- Organised and ability to multitask.
- Good attention to detail.
