Our client based in the Mold area is currently looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator drives efficiency and precision across our clients supply chain operations. This role plays a critical part in orchestrating transportation, warehouse distribution, procurement, and inventory management, ensuring a seamless, end-to-end flow of products from supplier to customer. This position is integral in ensuring the efficiency of our clientβs supply chain operations through strategic planning, data-driven decision making, and effective vendor relationships. The role requires motivated professionals eager to contribute their expertise in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Performance Objectives
- Manage the efficient delivery and distribution of products to ensure levels are at 100%.
- Book transport and routes for all deliveries (UK and Global).
- Ensure all deliveries are cost efficient - negotiate where possible and seek new hauliers and monitor service of providers.
- Handling of all administration related to the import and export of goods.
- Working closely with all areas of the business to ensure best cost to service model and ensuring the customers receive a first-class service at all times.
- Developing transportation plans for any new projects that arise.
- Check stock availability against customer orders.
- Prioritise customer deliveries with warehouse.
- Liaise with the warehouses to ensure all orders are prepared and shipped on time.
- Manage customer returns and resolution.
- Coordinate inventory flows for direct to customer channels via external warehouses.
- Update customers on order progress.
- Investigate, resolve and process despatch discrepancies.
- Pre-plan shipments where possible, with reference to the master production schedule and production management.
- Process despatch and shipping documentation via system and using carrier specific systems where appropriate, together with manually generated documents as required.
- Liaise and advise internally to Sales Dept on matters of delivery, cost and shipping related queries.
- Where necessary provide proof of delivery to meet customers' requirements and communicate this accordingly.
- Maintain relevant/required information systems in the form of computer database records and paper systems.
- Provide PODs to Finance Dept for audit requirement.
Person Specification
- An experienced and confident Logistics Coordinator.
- Strong communicator - confident at all levels.
- Strong IT systems skills - Excel/ERP.
- People management skills would be an advantage but not a necessity.
- Highly organised with a methodical approach to work.
