Gap Personnel is working in partnership with a well-established, privately owned engineering business based in Oldbury, West Midlands. Due to significant business growth and organisational restructuring, we are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Manager (Multi-Skilled) to strengthen the maintenance and engineering function across the business. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical expertise with people and project management, supporting both reactive and planned maintenance while driving continuous improvement.

Duties and responsibilities as a Maintenance Manager:

  • Lead and manage all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities across two sites
  • Plan, manage and improve the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule
  • Project manage engineering and maintenance improvement projects
  • Support out-of-hours call-outs and provide shift cover when required

Key skills and qualifications required as a Maintenance Manager:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Automotive manufacturing background (preferred)
  • Proven experience managing maintenance or engineering teams
  • Strong project management capability
  • Experience using Excel-based PM systems
  • Good PC skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
