Overview
Gap Personnel are recruiting for a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s team. This role requires strong expertise in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, with the ability to diagnose, repair, and prevent faults to ensure smooth and efficient production operations. The successful candidate will be proactive, safety-conscious, and focused on minimising downtime while supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day mechanical and electrical maintenance on plant equipment, including printing, folding, hybrid automatic production machinery, and ancillary equipment.
- Respond effectively to breakdowns, faults, and repairs to maintain production continuity.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues on plant and equipment.
- Support the maintenance programme across plant systems, including hydraulics, robots, and ancillary machinery.
- Validate and commission new equipment and upgrades.
- Undertake process and equipment troubleshooting, including failure analysis.
- Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained in safe and efficient working order.
- Strive to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency of machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs, and maintenance activities for audit and compliance purposes.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience servicing production machinery and equipment.
- Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical engineering/maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation/electrical control systems.
- Qualified electrician (16th, 17th, or 18th Edition regulations, or equivalent).
- Excellent logic-based fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in both Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Skilled in troubleshooting across various equipment types.
- Team-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
Hours & Pay
Salary: £40,000PA
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 0730am – 1630pm & Friday, 0730am – 1230pm
