The Role:
- Safely and humanely catch, handle, and load poultry in line with strict animal welfare standards.
- Work as part of a team to collect birds from designated sheds and prepare them for transport.
- Place birds carefully into crates, ensuring minimal stress and adherence to welfare guidelines.
- Maintain high levels of hygiene and biosecurity at all times, including PPE use and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles in a controlled and efficient manner.
- Follow all site-specific health and safety procedures while working in farm and production environments.
- Carry out basic checks on equipment and report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor.
- Work in varying farm conditions, including early starts and physically demanding environments.
Experience:
- Previous experience in poultry catching or agricultural/farm work preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
- Manual Handling experience.
- Comfortable working indoors in farm sheds and in varying weather/temperature conditions.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward repetitive but essential tasks.
