We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Farm Operative to join our team in the DN17 area on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a hands-on role working as part of a dedicated team to maintain high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and productivity across the unit. Full training and on-site guidance will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in agriculture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Feeding, moving, serving, treating, vaccinating, and handling pigs
  • Maintaining animal welfare standards in line with Company policies, RSPCA Assured Standards, and the Five Freedoms
  • Following all company policies and procedures at all times
  • Operating farm equipment and machinery safely and responsibly (once trained)
  • Reporting any site damage or issues promptly to the Line Manager
  • Upholding strict biosecurity and site security standards
  • Ensuring the correct and responsible use of feed, medicines, and consumables
  • Keeping the unit clean, tidy, and presentable
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to complete daily tasks
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by management

About You

  • Previous experience in livestock or agriculture is desirable but not essential
  • Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
