A Production Operative is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing, processing, packaging, and quality control of meat sausages while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety. The role requires working efficiently as part of a team to meet production targets.

Pay Rate / Shift

  • Monday to Friday 06:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00
  • Pay Rate Β£12.83 Overtime Β£16.04

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare raw meat and ingredients for sausage production.
  • Operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Fill, link, and package sausages according to company specifications.
  • Monitor product quality and report any defects or issues.
  • Weigh, label, and pack finished products.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment following food hygiene standards.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with food safety regulations, including HACCP and company quality procedures.
  • Assist with stock movement and storage of raw materials and finished products.
  • Meet daily production targets while maintaining product quality.
  • Support team members and supervisors with other production tasks as required.

Skills and Requirements

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or meat processing is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.
  • Good attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift items where required.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and overtime if needed.
