Forklift Truck Operator – Manufacturing Environment
Location: Normanton, WF6
Hourly Rate: £13.25
Are you an experienced Forklift Truck (FLT) Operator looking to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and teamwork are top priorities? We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to support production operations and maintain high standards across the site.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday for 8 hours a day (Flexible)
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental requirements – safety is non-negotiable.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times.
- Carry out and sign off daily FLT safety checks at the start of every shift.
- Actively participate in the Near Miss programme, supporting team members in identifying and resolving risks.
- Ensure all equipment and working areas are safe and fit for purpose.
- Work towards a zero lost-time accident culture.
FLT & Production Duties
- Supply manufacturing machines with required materials in line with the production plan.
- Remove packaging before delivering materials to machines.
- Transport materials safely around the site as required.
- Wrap finished pallets according to packing specifications.
- Remove factory waste and place it in designated areas.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles when needed.
- Support production teams, including assisting printers during make-ready.
- Accurately record all required information in internal systems.
- Maintain a tidy and organised work approach.
- Help minimise downtime and ensure smooth production flow.
General Duties
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve company goals and maintain high standards.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Be flexible to support additional tasks or work outside normal hours when required.
- Assist other departments during periods of high workload.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs (including Maths & English) or equivalent.
- Valid FLT licence (Counterbalance & Reach).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment (essential).
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work and shift patterns.
- Willingness to work overtime and across departments when needed.
- Print environment experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to provide references covering the last 5 years.
