We are an established, values–led food manufacturing business producing award–winning free–from products. With an inclusive and supportive culture, we believe people matter and that every role contributes to shared success. We are now seeking a hands–on Financial Accountant to join our finance team. This is a varied and practical role, ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the detail while supporting the wider financial performance of the business.
The role
- You will take ownership of day–to–day finance operations, including cash flow management, payroll, and month–end reporting.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing daily bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
- Processing sales data from Shopify and maintaining KPI reports
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers in QuickBooks
- Posting and allocating payments, credit notes, and VAT returns
- Producing weekly cash flow and collections reports
- Chasing customer payments and responding to finance queries
- Managing payroll, including timesheets, wages, pensions, and HMRC submissions
- Handling banking activities such as supplier payments, wages, and international payments
- Supporting Sales Invoice Finance and Trade Finance facilities
- Completing month–end processes including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and management accounts
- Supporting year–end accounts and liaising with external accountants and auditors
About you
- You’ll be confident, organised, and comfortable working independently in a fast–paced environment.
- Previous experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month–end accounting
- Experience using accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Payroll experience with a good understanding of PAYE and pensions
- Experience with trade and invoice finance facilities
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
- High attention to detail and a proactive, problem–solving approach
