Gap Personnel is recruiting on behalf of our client for a hardworking and reliable Farm Operative. This is a varied and physically demanding role, with the primary responsibility being pressure washing pens and farm buildings to maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards across the site. In addition to cleaning duties, the successful candidate will also support with general farm operations including tractor driving, animal movement, feed systems, and daily welfare checks. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone eager to learn and develop within the farming industry.
Shifts:
- Typically 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Occasional earlier starts from 4:30 AM with earlier finishes
- Weekend work on an alternating rota
Key Responsibilities:
- Pressure washing pens, buildings, and farm equipment
- Carrying out general farm duties as required
- Tractor driving and assisting with farm machinery
- Learning and operating feed systems
- Assisting with moving livestock safely and efficiently
- Completing daily animal welfare checks
- Maintaining high health & safety and hygiene standards
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out demanding manual work
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions
- Previous farm or agricultural experience beneficial but not essential
- Tractor driving experience advantageous
- Comfortable working in an indoor farm environment
