Location: Newton Abbot

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

We are working with a well-established and highly regarded chartered accountancy firm in Newton Abbot who are looking to appoint a Personal Assistant to support a designated Partner. This is a key role within the business, providing high-quality administrative and organisational support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

The Role

  • Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and coordinating appointments
  • Acting as a first point of contact for calls and queries
  • Taking accurate messages and ensuring timely follow-up
  • Monitoring emails during periods of absence
  • Organising meetings, events, and networking activities
  • Attending meetings and producing clear, concise notes where required
  • Supporting client onboarding, including setting up new clients and requesting documentation
  • Preparing and issuing client correspondence
  • Managing client records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Assisting with compliance-related and statutory administrative tasks
  • Providing wider administrative support across the team when needed

About You

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and confident in managing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders and able to build strong working relationships. You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Personal Assistant or high-level Administrative role, including Office or Administration Management
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • A proactive approach and the ability to use your initiative
  • Experience with accountancy software (such as CCH) would be beneficial but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

Additional Information

  • You will be supporting a long-standing Partner and working closely as part of a collaborative team
  • This role is office-based in Newton Abbot
  • Hours of work are 8:30am to 5pm, with an unpaid 1 hour lunch break
  • A six-month probationary period applies
