gap personnel are recruiting for a fast-growing engineering company based in Cullompton, Devon. We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Operator/Setter to join a busy and expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with turning and/or milling experience who is looking to further develop their skills in a dynamic engineering environment. Experience with Mazatrol or Heidenhain controls is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines (turning and milling) to produce high-quality precision components
- Interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Monitor machine performance and output quality, making adjustments as required
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work closely with the engineering team to improve processes and productivity
- Adhere to company policies and maintain high standards of workmanship
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a CNC Operator/Setter (turning and/or milling)
- Previous experience programming is beneficial
- Experience with Mazatrol or Heidenhain controls
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings
- Confident using measuring equipment and working to tight tolerances
- Proactive problem-solving approach
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
Desirable
- CNC apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification
- Experience with other CNC controls or machinery
Hours & Pay: Competitive hourly rate £18 – £22 DOE Monday to Friday, 0800am – 1700pm
