Gap Personnel, operating as an employment business, are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Customer Service Representative based in the Haydock area. The position is on a temp-to-perm basis. Candidates need to have logistics experience.

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Working hours: Rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday

  • Week 1: 07:30 – 16:30
  • Week 2: 08:30 – 17:30

About the role: As a key link between our customers, drivers, and partner depots, you’ll play a vital role in keeping freight moving and customers informed. Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling inbound customer queries by phone and email
  • Proactively updating customers on collections and deliveries
  • Liaising with partner depots and third-party networks to obtain delivery status updates
  • Managing and resolving delivery issues with a calm, professional approach
  • Logging and tracking issues through to resolution
  • Building strong relationships with customers through clear, friendly communication
  • Supporting the wider operations team to ensure service levels are met

About you: We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a positive, bubbly personality and enjoys talking to customers
  • Remains calm and professional when things go wrong
  • Thrives in a busy, time-critical environment
  • Is organised, proactive and solution-focused
  • Has previous customer service experience (logistics or transport)
