Are you organised, confident speaking with customers and motivated by seeing your hard work rewarded? We’re recruiting an Operations & Service Contracts Assistant to join a successful and growing engineering business in Cullompton. This is a varied, hands-on position combining customer service, sales administration, order fulfilment and operational support. A key part of the role will be managing the company’s service-contract programme. You’ll contact existing customers about renewals, identify new opportunities and explain the benefits of ongoing service cover. For every eligible contract you sell or renew, you’ll earn £50 commission with no cap. A realistic target of 10 contracts per month would generate an additional £500 per month, or £6,000 per year, on top of your hourly pay.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the service-contract database and monitoring upcoming renewal dates
  • Contacting customers to discuss renewals and new contract opportunities
  • Preparing quotations and following opportunities through to completion
  • Building positive, long-term relationships with customers
  • Responding to enquiries about servicing, spare parts, orders and returns
  • Following up outstanding quotations and customer actions
  • Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
  • Monitoring stock levels and maintaining accurate records
  • Preparing parts and service kits for field engineers
  • Raising purchase orders and liaising with suppliers
  • Supporting the wider operations team as priorities change

What we’re looking for:

You may have experience in customer service, sales administration, telesales, contract renewals, logistics, warehouse operations or general business support. More importantly, you’ll be:

  • Confident and professional when speaking with customers
  • Commercially aware without being overly sales-driven
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple follow-up actions
  • Accurate, dependable and attentive to detail
  • Comfortable using email, spreadsheets and business systems
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities
  • Positive, approachable and willing to support different areas of the business
  • Comfortable handling parcels, parts and stock when required

Full training will be provided on the company’s products, systems and service-contract offering, so previous engineering experience is not essential. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking for flexible part-time hours, plenty of variety and the chance to increase their earnings through a realistic, uncapped commission scheme. There is also scope for the position to develop as the business continues to grow.
