Gap Personnel are currently recruiting for 1 Sheet Metal Worker/Welder, for a leading company based in Crewe. The client is a market leader in the design, precision tool making and injection moulding.
Role: Fulltime Perm.
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.45am-4.45pm, Friday 7.45am-12.45pm.
Job Location: Crewe, CW2.
Pay rate: 31K to 37k depending on experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Shape metal material over anvils, blocks, or other forms, using hand tools.
- Drill and punch holes in metal, for screws, bolts, and rivets.
- Fasten seams and joints together with welds, bolts, rivets, braze and solder to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items.
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts, using hand tools and portable power tools.
- Develop and lay out patterns that use materials most efficiently.
- Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material.
- Inspect individual parts, assemblies, and installations for conformance to specifications.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience of working in an engineering fabrication environment for a minimum of 5 years.
- Experience of working with a variety of materials.
- Knowledge of fabricating machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
- The ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted.
- The ability to interpret an engineering drawing and imagine how the product should look after it is completed.
- Must be highly responsible, effective, confident and capable.
