The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper for one of our growing clients. You’ll be joining a small, friendly team where everyone works together and where your contribution truly makes a difference.

The Role

  • Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50
  • Monitoring the accounts email inbox and organising invoices and financial documents
  • Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, and payments
  • Recording daily shop cash and card sales from Excel spreadsheets
  • Preparing and making weekly supplier payments via online banking
  • Reconciling bank accounts and petty cash weekly, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Checking supplier statements and resolving queries
  • Managing credit control and chasing overdue payments
  • Preparing VAT returns, PAYE payments, and completing regular finance tasks
  • Supporting general office administration when required, including answering the phone
  • Assisting customers with ordering queries where needed

About You

  • A minimum of 5 years’ bookkeeping experience
  • A relevant qualification (AAT or equivalent)
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Microsoft Office
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • A professional, approachable manner
  • Strong problem-solving skills and good common sense

Working Hours

  • 20–25 hours per week
  • Tuesday to Friday (3–4 days)
  • Flexible start time
  • The business closes at 4:00pm
