We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper for one of our growing clients. You’ll be joining a small, friendly team where everyone works together and where your contribution truly makes a difference.
The Role
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50
- Monitoring the accounts email inbox and organising invoices and financial documents
- Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, and payments
- Recording daily shop cash and card sales from Excel spreadsheets
- Preparing and making weekly supplier payments via online banking
- Reconciling bank accounts and petty cash weekly, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Checking supplier statements and resolving queries
- Managing credit control and chasing overdue payments
- Preparing VAT returns, PAYE payments, and completing regular finance tasks
- Supporting general office administration when required, including answering the phone
- Assisting customers with ordering queries where needed
About You
- A minimum of 5 years’ bookkeeping experience
- A relevant qualification (AAT or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Microsoft Office
- A solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A professional, approachable manner
- Strong problem-solving skills and good common sense
Working Hours
- 20–25 hours per week
- Tuesday to Friday (3–4 days)
- Flexible start time
- The business closes at 4:00pm
