A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Plant Fitter to join a well‑established engineering operation working with large mechanical assemblies.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on engineering, fault‑finding, and working on machinery that genuinely tests your skillset.
The RoleYou’ll be responsible for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of a range of heavy mechanical equipment. Daily tasks include:
- Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding mechanical components
- Working with gearboxes, drivetrains and large assemblies
- Using overhead cranes, jibs and lifting equipment safely
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and completing repairs to a high standard
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentation
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with safety procedures and quality standards
- Strong mechanical fitting background (plant, rail, HGV, industrial, marine or similar)
- Experience working with heavy components and lifting equipment
- Confident with fault‑finding and mechanical diagnostics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health & safety in an engineering environment
- Reliable, proactive and keen to learn new skills
- Full‑time role
- 7am–3pm, Monday to Friday
