Our client, a well-established logistics provider, is looking to recruit a Logistics Coordinator to support a dedicated on-site warehouse operation serving a long-standing customer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys a hands-on role, combining team supervision, operational coordination and FLT operation. The position offers a good balance of leadership and warehouse activity, with approximately 60% supervising and organising operations and 40% Counterbalance FLT driving.

The Role

As Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a small warehouse team, ensuring the safe, efficient and accurate receipt, storage and despatch of materials within a racked warehouse environment. You will play a key role in maintaining operational standards, stock accuracy, customer service levels and health and safety compliance, while building strong relationships with both site-based customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating a small warehouse team to achieve operational targets.
  • Ensuring the safe receipt, storage, handling and despatch of materials.
  • Maintaining a strong “Safety First” culture across the operation.
  • Supporting hazard identification, reporting and corrective actions.
  • Planning and coordinating daily warehouse activities to meet customer requirements.
  • Managing stock control and inventory accuracy through the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Investigating and resolving service, stock and operational issues.
  • Monitoring performance against agreed KPIs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Working collaboratively with wider operational teams to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Supporting process improvements and implementing best practices across the warehouse operation.
  • Operating Counterbalance FLT equipment as required to support warehouse activities.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have previous warehouse, logistics or distribution experience and be confident leading a small team in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence and practical operating experience.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and stock management processes.
  • Good systems literacy and experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to make quick, effective decisions in a busy operational environment.
  • Strong customer service focus and commitment to delivering high standards.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Reach Truck FLT licence.
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Experience within transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
