Gap Personnel are currently recruiting Hygiene Operatives and Hygiene Team Leaders to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a physically demanding industrial cleaning role suited to individuals who are hardworking, resilient, and comfortable working in challenging conditions. Please note: this is a factory-cleaning environment and not domestic or office cleaning.
About the Role
Working within the hygiene team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety across production and factory areas using industrial cleaning methods and equipment. This is a night shift position operating on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, including regular weekends, with 12.5-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out deep cleaning and sanitation of machinery, production lines, and factory areas.
- Using high-pressure hoses and jet wash equipment for repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Dismantling and reassembling machinery components for cleaning.
- Manual handling duties including lifting hoses, moving ladders, and handling equipment/components.
- Working safely at heights using ladders and gantries (up to approximately 4.4m).
- Following strict hygiene, food safety, and health & safety procedures at all times.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
- Previous experience within an industrial, FMCG, or food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Hygiene Team Leader candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ hygiene experience.
- Hygiene Operative candidates may have less experience but must demonstrate some hygiene exposure and a strong willingness to work within the sector.

- With repetitive jet wash style cleaning using high-pressure hoses.
- In a heavy industrial factory-cleaning environment rather than domestic or office cleaning settings.
