gap personnel are currently recruiting for Warehouse Operatives on a weekly basis for Late shift, located at TJ Morris’ all-purpose distribution centre in Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4. You will be joining a privately owned, family run discount retailer selling top brands at the lowest possible price on the UK high street. The distribution centre is one of the company’s most advanced and highly automated DC’s and covers a whopping 1,000,000 sq.ft.
The Warehouse Operative is fundamental to the day-to-day operations across the TJ Morris network with all items picked for the day, supplied direct to stores the following day. The site operates 24/7 with all warehouse operatives expected to work 5 days out of 7 which will include rotational weekends.
As a Warehouse Operative you will be provided with all of the latest training to ensure that you can operate to your full potential, and to use the company’s automated Caddy Pick System. You have regular training sessions and progress reviews for continuous improvement within your job role.
Main responsibilities:
- Safe picking and loading of items into cages ready for store delivery
- Ensuring all items are picked as per order and loaded correctly
- Maintaining clean working practices
- Work towards achievement of pick rate and other targets
This is a physically demanding role as you will be covering large distances by foot (up to 15,000 steps per day), although the automated picking system will provide you with the shortest / quickest route to each item that is required to be picked.

Successful candidates will be a pro-active team worker, liaising and co-operating with all members of staff.
