We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flat Bed Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flat bed laser cutting machines to produce high-quality components in line with technical drawings and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate flat bed laser cutting machines (e.g., CNC laser cutters)
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, CAD files, and job specifications
- Load and unload raw materials (sheet metal, stainless steel, aluminium, etc.)
- Adjust machine settings to ensure precision cutting and optimal performance
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of equipment
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances
- Monitor production output and report any issues or defects
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health & safety regulations
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams
Requirements
- Proven experience operating flat bed laser machines (e.g., Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada)
- Strong understanding of CNC machinery and laser cutting processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings
- Familiarity with different metals and material properties
- Good attention to detail and quality control
- Basic computer skills (for machine interface and job tracking)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
- Forklift or overhead crane license
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Previous experience in a sheet metal or fabrication environment
