About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Tool Maker to join our engineering/manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, and repair of precision tooling, including moulds, dies, jigs, and fixtures, ensuring optimal performance to support production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, assemble, and fit precision tools, dies, moulds, jigs, and fixtures
  • Carry out tool repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance
  • Operate a range of manual and CNC machinery (milling, turning, grinding, EDM, etc.)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical specifications
  • Conduct fault finding and problem-solving on tooling issues
  • Ensure all tooling meets required tolerances and quality standards
  • Work closely with production and design teams to improve tooling performance
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out
  • Adhere to all health & safety and company procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Tool Maker / Tool & Die Maker
  • Strong knowledge of machining techniques and tooling processes
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Experience with manual machining (lathe, mill, surface grinder, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CNC machinery and EDM (desirable but not essential)
  • High level of attention to detail and precision
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in injection moulding or press tooling environments
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
  • Experience working with tight tolerances and high-precision components
