About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading production companies based in Southend-on-Sea. We are looking for a Trainee Machine Operator with a hands-on production or machine background to join a busy, high-volume night shift team. Full role-specific training will be provided, but you must be able to hit the ground running with your existing experience.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Operating and monitoring production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Setting up, loading and unloading machines ready for each production run
  • Carrying out basic machine checks and routine maintenance tasks
  • Inspecting finished output to ensure it meets quality and specification standards
  • Reporting any faults, stoppages or quality issues to your supervisor promptly
  • Keeping your work area clean, tidy and compliant with health & safety guidelines
  • Supporting the wider production team to hit output targets and deadlines

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or machine operating role is essential
  • Confident working with and around industrial machinery
  • Good attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and output
  • Ability to work at pace and stay focused throughout a night shift
