We are urgently seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join our client's team in Southend-on-Sea, supporting a growing workload. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-precision environment, with clear routes for career progression—including the potential to move into a Senior CNC Turner or CNC Lead role.
About the Role
- Operate and set CNC Turning Machines, including lathes, turning mills, and bar feeders
- Work with high-tolerance components and a range of materials (Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Inconel)
- Use CNC machines with Fanuc, Seiki, and Heidenhain controls
- Maintain quality control in line with business and customer standards
- Collaborate with the team to meet production targets in a fast-paced environment
- Report directly to the Production Manager
Who We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience setting and operating CNC turning machines (programming experience desirable)
- Ability to set and run Fixed Head and/or Sliding Head CNC Turning Machines (Fanuc and Seiki controls)
- Strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools and machining processes
- Experience with bar feed machines; experience with twin spindle/twin turret machines is a plus
- Able to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Proactive, dependable, and capable of working independently
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £30,000 to £38,500 depending on experience; up to £40,000 considered for senior-level candidates with all required skills and leadership potential
- 28 days' holiday including bank holidays, plus Christmas closure
- Overtime available

- Paid on the 20th of each month
- Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 06:45–16:30 (37-hour week)
