Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off - rotating shifts 2 Days: 7:00am - 7:00pm, 2 Nights: 7:00pm - 7:00am. Breaks: 4 x 30-minute breaks per 12-hour shift.

The Opportunity: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Line Leader to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment (Bakery). This role is responsible for driving operational improvement across the production plant, working closely with Engineering, Technical, and Hygiene teams to identify opportunities, improve efficiencies, and support overall plant performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining operational standards, communicating improvements effectively across teams, and ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of Manufacturing, Despatch, and Hygiene KPIs including productivity, efficiency, quality, and output targets.
  • Work closely with Engineering teams to identify plant inefficiencies and prioritise improvement activities.
  • Communicate planned maintenance shutdowns clearly to operators and ensure responsibilities are understood.
  • Provide regular updates on maintenance progress and operational improvements.
  • Create and maintain weekly communication forums through team briefings and visual displays.
  • Monitor and communicate key operational metrics including OEE, waste, downtime, ownership, and accountability.
  • Maintain and review risk assessments and work instructions across production areas, including slicing operations.
  • Ensure Team Leaders continuously review and update risk assessments where required.
  • Promote a strong health & safety culture across the operation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practices.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Proven track record of delivering against operational targets and KPIs.
  • Minimum 2 years line management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational and decision-making skills.
  • Experience allocating workloads and managing operational resources effectively.
  • Ability to analyse data and make performance-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience implementing change and driving team engagement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Desirable:

  • Experience within Food Manufacturing or FMCG environments.
  • SAP knowledge and understanding of financial controls and operational data.
  • IOSHH qualification.
  • HACCP Level 2 or above.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene standards, health & safety legislation, audits, and compliance processes.
