Gap Personnel, operating as an employment business, are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Warehouse Supervisor for a company based in Liverpool, L3 area. The position is a permanent contract.

Job Overview

As Warehouse Supervisor, you will report directly to the Warehouse Manager, and you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations of the warehousing and storage facilities for Liverpool. You will be supervising the clients and third-party warehouse staff and giving guidance and clear instructions. You will conduct planning meetings with warehouse and office staff to ensure operational needs are being met.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum based on experience

Hours of work: 7am - 3pm, Monday to Friday

Job Responsibilities

  • Supporting the UK Management as well as the wider EMEA team
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance at all times with Group and local Health and Safety procedures
  • Ensure adequate resourcing of third-party labour and workforce planning to support volumes
  • Ensuring employees are being trained on the latest versions of SOPs and exchange rules
  • Conducting regular reviews of storage methods to ensure efficient and compliant space utilisation
  • Managing stock checks at the clients and any third-party locations and ensuring random stock checks are performed
  • Collecting keys and responsibility for opening and closing the warehouse & warehouse office each day, alarming and returning keys to a dedicated area for secure storage
  • Implementing and maintaining warehousing procedures including conducting reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Ensuring that all warehouse activities are covered by a safe operating procedure
  • Ensuring sufficient and adequate equipment is always available
  • Ensuring FLT fuel supplies are adequate for the operation
  • Ensuring repairs and maintenance are being completed on time and reported to the warehouse manager
  • Oversight of building and compound maintenance - liaising with property owners/managers when repairs are needed
  • Reviewing and implementing updates according to the management system
  • Reporting of incidents and accidents using HB iAuditor reporting system

Skills and Experience Required

  • Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years warehousing experience
  • Demonstrable significant experience of H&S, security and regulatory controls
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Strong IT and communication skills (oral, listening and written)
  • Self-starter who is intuitive and focused upon continual process improvement
  • FLT Licence
  • Willingness to be involved in the day-to-day operation (supervising/forklift driving/labouring)
  • Professional, responsible with a good work ethic
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and able to meet deadlines
  • Contactable out of normal working hours for security reasons

Desirable

  • Experience of working within an international warehousing, logistics, supply chain business
  • Experience of operating within an LME/CME warehouse and knowledge of LME and ICE rules
