The opportunity to lead and scale business intelligence, data, reporting, and decision support across a growing business based in York, North Yorkshire.
This senior leadership role blends hands-on technical work with strategic direction, enabling the organisation to maximise the value of its data and support transformation initiatives such as migration to Microsoft Fabric and development of customer, CRM, and CDP data capabilities.
Responsibilities- Own and deliver a clear, practical BI and Data strategy aligned to business objectives and long-term growth ambitions.
- Translate business priorities into a focused, achievable data roadmap.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of BI and Data initiatives, from shaping requirements to production.
- Own and evolve the enterprise data platform, including pipelines, models, integrations, and the transition to Microsoft Fabric.
- Set and uphold high standards for data architecture, modelling, and engineering.
- Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, well-governed, and fit for future growth.
- Deliver reliable, consistent MI, reporting, and dashboards for operational and strategic decision-making.
- Establish and maintain a trusted single version of the truth, with clear definitions and metric governance.
- Enable self-service analytics, supported by strong governance and user education.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a small but high-impact BI and Data team.
- Set clear direction, priorities, and technical standards.
- Act as the senior authority on BI and Data, partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making.
- Communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Establish strong data standards, quality controls, and transparency across the data estate.
- Ensure confidence in the accuracy, completeness, and trustworthiness of data used for decision-making.
- Proven senior-level leadership experience in BI, Data, or Analytics.
- Strong technical background with a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset.
