Gap Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced FLT Counterbalance Driver / Warehouse Operative to join a well-established and supportive team based in Witney (OX29). This role plays a key part in the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring stock is handled safely, accurately, and efficiently.

You'll be working in a safety-focused environment, supporting the smooth receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch of goods while delivering excellent service to customers.

Shift Pattern

  • Monday to Friday
  • Shifts vary between 6:00am – 6:00pm
  • Typically 7:30am – 4:30pm (9-hour shift) with a 1-hour unpaid break per day
  • 40 paid hours per week
  • Flexibility required, including a “work until all jobs are done” approach

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with unloading and loading vehicles at the branch
  • Receive, check, and store goods accurately in designated warehouse/yard locations
  • Pick and prepare customer orders in line with sales requirements
  • Load customer orders safely onto delivery vehicles
  • Sign for deliveries and report any stock damage or discrepancies
  • Carry out stock checks and maintain accurate stock records
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse/yard environment
  • Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on forklifts and handling equipment
  • Promote an “Everyone Safe, Every Day” safety culture
  • Report accidents, incidents, and near misses in line with H&S procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence (essential)
  • Previous warehouse or yard experience (advantageous)
  • Good numeracy, attention to detail, and data accuracy
  • Basic IT skills
  • Strong understanding of health & safety practices
  • Flexible, reliable, and proactive with a can-do attitude
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Customer-focused approach and ability to work with minimal supervision
