gap personnel Gloucester are recruiting for 1 Production Operative in the Cutting Room department for an ongoing temp to perm role for one of the British shirtmaker companies.
As a Production Operative, you will work accurately and must be keen to learn the craft of garment cutting. No experience needed β after full training provided, you will gain an understanding of both hand and automated cutting. The successful applicant will be required to achieve daily production targets with the opportunity to earn a bonus. For those that can demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment, there are permanent opportunities available after completion of the probation period.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Cut garments accurately in a timely manner
- Assist with the day-to-day duties within a busy cutting room
- Recut components as and when required
- Use an industrial die cutter to prepare interlinings
- Mark, batch, and label panels
- Maintain a tidy, clean environment
- Use industrial and hand-cutting tools carefully and precisely
- Learn to handle and cut a diverse range of cloths
The candidate must be:
- Organised, hardworking & efficient
- Willing with a can-do attitude
- Experience in a garment manufacturing unit would be a bonus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and spoken English language skills
Shifts and working hours:
Full-Time
- Monday β Thursday: 7:45am β 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:45am β 1:30pm
Hourly Pay Rates: Β£12.60 per hour with the opportunity to earn a generous performance-related bonus.
