We are currently recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client based in the Blackburn area for an experienced and detail-focused Production Assembly Operative.
Job Summary
The Assembly Operative will be responsible for the assembly, inspection, and packaging of high-precision aerospace components within a controlled cleanroom environment. The successful candidate will work to strict quality standards, ensuring all products meet customer and regulatory requirements while maintaining contamination control procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble aerospace components and sub-assemblies in accordance with detailed engineering drawings, technical instructions, and quality procedures.
- Carry out precision assembly work within a cleanroom environment while adhering to strict contamination control standards.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using microscopes, magnification equipment, and measuring tools where required.
- Handle delicate materials and components with a high level of care and accuracy.
- Follow cleanroom gowning procedures and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention protocols at all times.
- Maintain clean and organised workstations, tools, and assembly equipment in line with cleanroom standards.
- Identify and report assembly defects, contamination risks, or quality concerns promptly.
- Work closely with quality, engineering, and production teams to ensure products are completed to specification and on schedule.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve assembly efficiency, product quality, and cleanroom processes.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, and company procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience working within a cleanroom environment.
- Previous assembly experience within aerospace, engineering, electronics, medical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong manual dexterity and experience handling small, delicate, or precision-engineered components.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in repetitive tasks.
- Good understanding of contamination control and cleanroom procedures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and working in full cleanroom PPE.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within aerospace manufacturing or precision engineering.
- Familiarity with quality inspection processes and documentation.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Hours
Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday 07:15am-17:00pm
Pay Rate: £12.80 per hour to increase to £14.50 after training matrix completed
