We are currently recruiting for a CNC Programmer /Miller in Chorley. The Role

As a CNC Programmer & Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components and fabricated parts to exact specifications. You will work from detailed engineering drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, work-holding methods, and machining strategies to ensure efficient and accurate production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programming and operating CNC milling machines using HAAS or Heidenhain controls.
  • Producing precision components from engineering drawings.
  • Machining fabricated components and assemblies.
  • Selecting tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies.
  • Working with a variety of materials, including exotic-grade alloys.
  • Ensuring all work meets quality and customer specifications.
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Time-served engineer with post-qualification machining experience.
  • Proven CNC programming and operating experience.
  • Ability to programme HAAS or Heidenhain controls.
  • Experience using CAD/CAM programming software.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Experience machining fabricated components.
  • Knowledge of tooling selection, work-holding, and cutting strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Fusion 360 programming experience.
