Gap Healthcare is currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for an enthusiastic and committed Shared Lives Service Manager to lead and grow their CQC ‘Good’ rated Shared Lives Services. Shared Lives is a model of care that supports adults with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or other needs that may make independent living challenging. Individuals are matched with approved carers who provide accommodation and assistance, allowing them to live in a family environment—either on a long-term, respite, or day support basis. This promotes community integration and helps individuals lead fulfilling lives.

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations within the service. As an inspiring leader, you will support and develop the team and ensure that the Shared Lives Carers provide quality support to individuals who access the service. You will also be expected to proactively develop the service by raising awareness of Shared Lives locally and regionally, and by driving the recruitment and development of Shared Lives Carers.

If you are a Registered Manager with a degree in social work, looking for a challenging and rewarding job opportunity and you are aligned to their values, we would love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a high-quality Shared Lives service that supports people to live as independently as possible and achieve positive outcomes within a family-based setting.
  • Providing leadership to ensure Shared Lives social workers and carers are clear about their duties and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely and effectively in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Promoting the rights of each person the scheme supports and keeping their wishes at the centre of their care and support.
  • Managing the safety and quality of the scheme in line with legislative and regulatory requirements, sector best practices, and organisational policy and procedures.
  • In conjunction with the Council’s Quality Improvement Team and Commissioning Leads, developing a process of continued quality improvement and growth of the Shared Lives service.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A social work degree, or a relevant qualification in health & social care, social care management, or community development.
  • Knowledge of adult social care legislation, Care Quality Commission requirements, and the ethos of Shared Lives.

What they offer in return:

  • Free DBS
  • Training & development
  • Nest Pension Scheme
  • ‘Refer a friend’ scheme
  • Blue Light Discount Card
  • Death in Service Benefit
  • Contractual sick pay
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays

If you have the required experience, please apply today or call us on (phone number removed).
