About the role
The Role: Join a role where your driving skills make a real impact - every day is different, and your work keeps the industry moving. Please note this is a Temporary 12 month contract covering maternity leave. As a Driver in GAP's Lifting Division, you'll be at the heart of our operations delivering essential equipment like hoists, slings, and winches to construction, utilities, and infrastructure sites across the UK. You'll load, deliver, and collect hire equipment safely and professionally, often demonstrating kit on-site and ensuring all checks and paperwork are completed accurately. Whether you're navigating busy city streets or remote rural roads, your role is key to keeping projects running smoothly.
About You
What You'll be Doing:
- Delivering and collecting lifting equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and authorised signatures)
- Conduct hire equipment demonstrations where needed
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety
- Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods
- Tagging damaged equipment on return and placing them in the correct depot area
- Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties
- Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation
What You'll Bring: We're looking for someone reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused, including:
- Proven experience in a driving role, ideally delivering hire equipment
- Full UK driving licence (towing experience and Digi Tacho card are desirable)
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately
- A professional, friendly approach when dealing with customers and colleagues
