We're looking for a manager to join our dynamic Welfare division, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Hire Desk and Transport operation. You'll lead a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations while helping to drive revenue growth and operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function
  • Motivating, coaching, and developing a team of Hire & Sales Coordinators and Drivers
  • Driving revenue growth through proactive promotion of consumables, accessories, and additional hire opportunities
  • Monitoring transport performance to ensure deliveries and collections are completed on time
  • Ensuring the accurate processing of hires, off-hires, exchanges, and transport activities
  • Resolving customer queries, hire issues, and administrative discrepancies efficiently
  • Working closely with operational teams to maximise equipment availability and hire readiness
  • Maintaining compliance with company procedures, Health & Safety standards, and operational best practice
  • Reviewing key business reports and taking corrective action where required to improve performance and customer satisfaction

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with commercial awareness and operational expertise, including:

  • Ideally you will have experience managing a hire desk, transport operation, or similar customer-facing team
  • Strong people management and coaching skills with the ability to develop and motivate others
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within an operational environment
  • Experience within the plant hire industry would be advantageous, although candidates from similar operational backgrounds will also be considered
