About the role: Join a role where your driving skills make a real impact — every day is different, and your work keeps the industry moving. As a Driver in GAP's Plant & Tool Division, you'll be at the heart of our operations — delivering essential equipment like diggers, dumpers, and power tools to construction, utilities, and infrastructure sites across the UK. You'll load, deliver, and collect hire equipment safely and professionally, often demonstrating kit on-site and ensuring all checks and paperwork are completed accurately. Whether you're navigating busy city streets or remote rural roads, your role is key to keeping projects running smoothly.
What You'll be Doing:
- Delivering and collecting plant equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and authorised signatures)
- Starting machines on-site when requested and demonstrating equipment use where needed
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety
- Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods
- Tagging damaged machines on return and placing them in the correct depot area
- Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties
- Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation
