About the role
The Role
Are you someone who enjoys being hands‑on, solving problems, and delivering excellent customer service?
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll be the face of GAP on customer sites, responsible for delivering and collecting equipment safely and efficiently while also using your mechanical skills to service, maintain, and repair our fleet. Whether you're supporting customers on‑site, carrying out inspections in the workshop, or ensuring equipment is ready for hire, you'll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering and collecting plant and equipment safely and professionally, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately
- Loading, unloading, and securing equipment on GAP vehicles in line with company safety procedures
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and ensuring vehicles remain roadworthy, compliant, and presentable
- Inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of plant equipment and tools both in the depot and on customer sites
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to minimise equipment downtime
- Completing service records, inspection reports, test certificates, and all associated documentation accurately
About You
What You’ll Bring
- A relevant mechanical qualification, apprenticeship, or time-served experience
- Experience maintaining, servicing, or repairing plant equipment, tools, vehicles, or related machinery
- A valid UK driving licence
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills A positive attitude with a strong focus on customer service
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Experience within the plant hire, construction, or equipment rental industry would be advantageous
