As the Foreman, you’ll be at the heart of our depot operations, ensuring our fleet of diggers, dumpers, and power tools is maintained to the highest standards and always hire-ready. You’ll lead a team of Fitters, manage workloads, and drive performance—all while keeping safety, efficiency, and quality front and centre. This is a hands-on, high-impact role offering real career progression in a company that invests in its people.
What You’ll Be Doing- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the depot workshop and ensuring plant equipment is consistently available for hire.
- Allocating and monitoring workloads across the fitter team to maximise productivity and meet performance targets.
- Leading by example to maintain high standards of safety, service, and equipment care.
- Implementing planned maintenance programmes to reduce downtime and repair costs.
- Ensuring accurate records of servicing, repairs, and appliance testing are maintained and compliant with legislation.
- Managing workshop cleanliness, vehicle maintenance schedules, and off-hire inspections.
- Ideally experience in a senior plant mechanic/fitter role, with a relevant qualification or time-served background.
- Solid, up-to-date knowledge of heavy plant machinery maintenance.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong team management skills in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- A full, valid driving licence.
