About the role
The Role

The Role:
GAP Lifting Hire & Sales offers one of the largest ranges of lifting equipment and accessories in the industry. From small shackles and slings to material lifts and aluminium gantries, the division has everything our customers need for lifting any size of load.
Our Apprenticeship Programme covers all the essential skills and principles you will need to become a Lifting Engineer and you\’ll learn how to service and repair lifting equipment, including PAT testing and electrical fault diagnostics. You\’ll also study everything from basic lifting engineering skills to the proof load testing of overhead cranes and runway systems.
As an Apprentice Lifting Engineer, you will be enrolled in a blended learning programme where you will gain the necessary qualifications and experience to become a LEEA certified Lifting Engineer through a mixture of on the job experience and industry specific courses.
About You
Successful candidates should demonstrate the following:
• A passion for working in a mechanical/fitter/engineering environment with a willingness to learn on the job and undertake further qualifications
• Ability to work on own initiative and assist other team members when required
• A customer-focussed approach to their work and strong attention to detail
• As long as you have the drive to build a career and the enthusiasm to learn, we can help with the rest!
