gap construction is proud to be representing a well-established main contractor in their search for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor in central Hertfordshire. Projects will vary in nature but include high-profile, complex projects across the commercial, education, industrial, retail, and residential sectors in Hertfordshire and into London.
Performance Objectives- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
- Monitor and manage project costs to ensure they remain within agreed budgets.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare variance reports, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Lead procurement activities, including the preparation of tender documentation and the evaluation of bids.
- Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations, contractual obligations, and company standards.
- Compile and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, records, and correspondence.
- A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry is essential.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities to meet project deadlines.
