Gap technical are representing a market-leading global manufacturer at their Deeside site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and setup of industrial machinery. You will drive a reduction in downtime while reducing costs incurred through breakdowns, by applying your previous experience in preventative and reactive maintenance.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tube mill experience desirable.
- Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support the production team by ensuring that manufacturing plant is kept well maintained and operational.
- Create an asset register and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure unplanned downtime is minimized, ensuring that equipment is configured safely and correctly for upcoming production activities.
- Keep detailed records.
- Take ownership of all assigned work and use your own initiative and problem-solving skills to bring it to completion within the constraints set out.
- Work closely with the production team to plan maintenance scheduling and plant shutdowns.
- Responsible for all critical and non-critical spares, their sourcing, and cataloguing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completed an apprenticeship or equivalent training in a relevant discipline.
- Holds a recognized qualification in mechanical maintenance, such as City and Guilds, NVQ, or ONC.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in roles responsible for the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
- Experience troubleshooting, maintaining bearings, mechanical seals, lubrication systems, motors, gearboxes, and heat exchangers.
- Proficient in modern IT systems, including the use of MS Office.
- The successful candidate will also have excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- The ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as engineering drawings, procedures, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Machine shop experience desirable.
