Junior Maintenance Engineer

36,000 - 38,000 per annum, depending on experience

The facility is an established bulk handling site located within Liverpool, handling non-hazardous chemicals and palletised goods across a range of industries. It operates bulk conveying systems, silos, warehouses, and packing equipment within a busy operational environment.

We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on Junior Maintenance Engineer to support the day‑to‑day maintenance and upkeep of the terminal and associated equipment. This is a temporary‑to‑permanent opportunity, with the potential for a permanent position after an initial 3‑month period.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Engineer, assisting in maintaining a safe, clean, and fully operational site at all times. This role is ideally suited to someone with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a solid understanding of general maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planned and reactive maintenance across the terminal site
  • Support the upkeep and repair of conveyors, elevators, packing equipment, and associated machinery
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site safety
  • Work alongside subcontractors and operational teams as required
  • Follow all Quality Assurance (QA) and Health & Safety procedures
  • Report maintenance issues and assist with fault‑finding and basic repairs
  • Ensure maintenance records and documentation are completed accurately

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week
  • Typical working hours are between 6:00am and 6:00pm, depending on operational requirements
  • Additional hours will be required during vessel discharge operations to meet business needs

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent)
  • Good spoken and written English and numeracy skills
  • Basic computer literacy, including: MS Word; Excel; Outlook; ERP systems

Desirable

  • Previous maintenance experience within a bulk handling or industrial environment
  • Experience working with conveyors and bucket elevators
  • Experience working alongside subcontractors
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance and Health & Safety procedures
