Building Surveyor £39,000 to £50,000 + Vehicle East Anglia (Terrington St Clement Office / Site Based). Gap Construction is proud to represent a well‑established regional construction and building maintenance contractor in their search for an experienced Building Surveyor to support pub and leisure contracts across East Anglia. Performance Objectives

  • Pricing works from drawings and survey information, including take‑offs and preparation of quotations
  • Producing and submitting tenders, schedules of rates, and contractor proposals
  • Managing project costs including variations, valuations, and final accounts
  • Liaising with client quantity surveyors, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Preparing and issuing subcontractor and material enquiries
  • Carrying out disrepair surveys and site audits, advising on remedial works
  • Attending site meetings including pre‑start, progress, and handover stages
  • Supporting projects from quotation stage through to completion
  • Maintaining accurate records of quotations and project financials
  • Uploading and managing information across client portals

Person Specification

  • Strong experience pricing works within JCT and framework contracts
  • Experience working with schedules of rates and producing SOR submissions
  • Ability to carry out property surveys, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions
  • Knowledge of older buildings and common defects such as damp and mould
  • Experience across a range of project types including reactive works and refurbishments
  • Comfortable managing multiple tenders and prioritising workloads
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
